SPB Classification System

SPB stands for Super Powered Being. An SPB’s can be Mutants, Mutations, Augmentations, Paranormal or Supernaturally gifted, Genetically Engineered or even Mechanical, Cybernetically or Training enhanced individuals. It is possible for an SPB to be of extraterrestrial origin, but no evidence exists of such a being to date.

Classifications are divided into three categories and are based on type and approximate level of power or ability, and the SPBs origin. Group One is Power Type and is combined with Group Two Range for ability and overall power level classification, while Group Three Source, tells to the origins of an SPB’s abilities.

Group One - Power Type with possible sub-grouping and combined Group Two - Range for level of power or ability. Ranges are set from a 1 to10+ and are divided in 1/2 increments. A range of 1 would be the lowest level of SPB ability or enhancement while a 10 is the highest with the exception of a 10+ which is an unmeasurable level of a particular Super Human Ability. Normal human range of attributes is set at zero although it is possible for normal humans to reach into what are considered lower levels of SPB classification ranges.

P- Physical: This classification means the SPB has an enhancement to one of their physical attributes such as strength, agility or endurance.
Sub-S is physical strength
Group-2- A strength with a range of 1 is represented by a weight lifter who has conditioned themself to their peak ability and able to lift in the range of 400 lbs while a 2 would be considered superhuman and able to lift in a rang between 400 to 2000 lbs. Each correspondentlevel would be an exponential increase in strength.

Sub-E is Endurance and resistance to harm
Group-2- An endurance with a range of 1 would be a wrestler or long distance runner, while a 3 to 4 may have resistant or hardened skin and bones and increased healing times, a 6 may regenerate to injury while a 7 or above has degrees of Invulnerability.

Sub-A is Agility
Group-2- An agility with a range of 1 would represent a stuntman while a 2 to 3 a well trained acrobat or gymnast while a 4 may be a master of martial arts and a 5 to 6 would be animal level agility while 7 and above would be truly superhuman.

S- Speed: Superhuman speeds represents both ground and air speeds.
Group-2- A speed range of 1 would be represented by a world class sprinter while a 2 could be represented by cyborgs able to run in excess of 70 mph, a 3 to 4 would allow an SPB speeds in the 100s of MPH, while a 5 could hit Mach speeds and a 10 could reach a maximum of light speed.

 

 

F- Flight: Ability to fly (No Group Two Range)

 

 

 

M- Mental: This classification means the SPB’s powers are psionic based such as telepathy.
Group-2- The range of mental ability would be represented where a mere Psychic would a 1 on the mental scale while a telepath may be a 3 or someone who has telekinesis a 5 to 7. A 10 would be pure mind over matter.

 

 

 

E-Energy: SPB has the ability to manipulate or project a form of electromagnetic energy such as heat, light, fire, magnetism or physical forms of energy such as sound or kinetic.
Group-2- An energy range of 1 is someone who might glow, while a 3 to 5 would have the ability to project heat or fire and a 10 create nuclear blast or control multiple forms of energy.

 

 

T-Technology: SPB gains their ability through a device or technological enhancement such as armor, cybernetics or weapons
Group-2- A Technology range of 1 would be a small device or weapon, a 3 to 5 a special augmentation, a 6 to 8 cybernetics or powered armor, and a 9 or above a device that goes beyond any known and current technology and laws. (A device that manipulates the cosmic power or the universe would be a 10)

 

 

 

 

 

 

A- Physical Alteration: Including but not limited to, a change of physical form such as transformations, transmutations, alterations in size or density, change in shape or body parts including growing or having additional body parts such as a tail, or attributes like hands and feet that cling to walls, or to the ability to become multiple forms or shape shift.
Group-2- A physical alteration range of 1 would be the ability to change the shape of the inner eyes or pupils, while a 2-4 may mean changing the density of the skin or the ability to cling to walls, a 5 to 8 may include completely changing forms to growing new limbs, a 9 complete shape changing to multiple forms or identities while a 10 indicates the ability to become a non-corporal being or transmute to a higher energy state.

 

 

 

 

K- Specialized Knowledge or Training: Military training, Martial Arts, Specialized Scientific studies, Magical studies.
Group-2- a specialized knowledge or training range of 1 might represent basic military training while a 2 to 3 would represent specialized Martial Arts, 4 to 6 would be Specialized Scientific studies, 7 to 8 would be abilities or knowledge that takes life times to master while a 9 and above might be Magical studies or a form of Super Science.

 

 

 

 

 

 

X-Unknown or Unclassifiable Power such as a paranormal or magical source.
Group-2- An unknown ability with a range of 1 may be a simple crystal that glows upon command, a 5 to 8 an individual that can cast magic spells or has mystical powers or invisibility, a 9, the sword Excalibur if it ever existed, and a 10, well that is beyond human understanding.

A SPB can have multiple Classifications per group:
Example One: A SPB with super human strength gained by an Exoskeleton with the ability to lift about 2000 lbs would be grouped as follows:
Group One: P (physical) T (technology)
Group Two: (P-Sub S2) Tech 4
Group Three: T Sub-M

Example Two: A being who can lift 10,000 lbs, has bullet proof skin and can run at speeds of 200 mph, fly and has laser vision born with those abilities would be classified as:
Group One: P, S, F and E
Group Two: (P-Sub S3 and Sub E3,) S-2, E-4,
Group Three: M

As seen by the previous examples, this classification system is used solely to help identify an SBP and their potential and is not intended to totally describe all their characteristics.
