Powers: Sunstorm has the ability to generate massive amounts of internally manifested energy. He can control, absorb and redirect all forms of electromagnetic energy as well. Every cell in his body is actually a mini fusion reactor. This grants Sunstorm the ability to fly, create energy barriers and project powerful blasts of heat and light. His heightened intellect allows him to fully control and contain his powers. Drake has scored perfect on every IQ or intelligence test yet devised. His IQ and intellect is listed as immeasurable. He has multiple PhD degrees in Physics, chemistry, mathematics and engineering.

Origin: Born a mutant, it is not truly known how Drake discovered his energy powers, and he does not speak of it. His vast intellect was discovered at age 5 when he found an IQ test on his father’s computer, his score so high, the site contacted Drake’s family. Drake graduated the top of his class in every field he studied in. He has a photographic memory, and can easily work on 10 projects simultaneously. His intellect gained him a top position with ASTECH in their aerospace research division. In a conversation with Paul Sand’s, when asked if light speed travel was possible, his reply was simple, “Would you like me to work on that sir?” Drake then became head of the propulsion research division. In a lunch date with Paul Sands and Debbie Foster, Debbie discovered Drake had the familiar mutant brainwave pattern. They confided in him their plan to create a SBP team to respond to the current flux of SPB incidents. He in turn confided in them of his long held SPB abilities. He joined the team and his intellect serves more than even his vast power, which Drake is more than happy to serve in a lab.
